Is there a way to link accounts for automatic balance updates?
Currently the best way to import account data from other platforms is with ProjectionLab’s Plugin System, which you can use to pull in account balances automatically from tools like YNAB, Monarch Money, and soon others!
At the moment, ProjectionLab does not support linking financial accounts directly. That is an item on the public roadmap, but as you’ll see from the discussion, it is actually a bit of a contentious topic within the PL community.
As a small bootstrapped team, we wanted to focus first-and-foremost on bringing you a beautiful long-term planning and projection tool where you can build nuanced plans for your whole life, rather than fixating on the latest daily stock price fluctuations.
PL encourages you to play the long game and plan for your future methodically, with periodic updates to see how your actual progress compares to your projections, and plugins to help pull in data from other tools in your personal finance suite.
In time, we do intend to explore the idea of adding optional account linking, and if you have additional comments or considerations to contribute, feel free to jump into the discussion on the roadmap!
